Chair Making Course

Would you like to make your own chair? ..Whether or not you have a background or any experience in Woodwork does not matter, this course is designed in such a way that you will be given step-by-step guidance and practical demonstrations throughout on how to build by hand, your own solid Oak chair. – using traditional woodworking handtools and methods.

Students will primary use tradional handtools and some powertools to construct and assemble a chair, during the process there will be oppturnities for creative design changes so that students can suit the project to their own specific requirements. Theory will be taught along side the practical element of this course so that students get a well rounded education on the processes, joints, techniques used, tools needed, health & safety and history involved in such an old and well respected traditional craft.

Woodwork for children

A short, fun woodwork course, whereby young children of Primary school age are given a little introduction to the art of woodworking. A safe, friendly & creative introduction.

• Safety is of paramount importance – children will not use power tools or hand tools of any kind.
• Scope for creativity and design changes from children with their own individual project.
• Children gain a clear understanding of processes involved, tools needed and techniques used to make their project, as well as constant safety tips along the way.
• Great taster class for preparation of Secondary school and subject choices in the near future.

Toy Making for adults - simple, creative, addictive!

 

Learn some basic skills that will enable you to make lovely old fashioned hand-made toys for your friends and family.
